I am excited to share these photographs from a recent family “mini session” that I photographed in late October. This adorable family wanted to include the 4th “member” of the family and I just love how these turned out. Dogs are definitely important members of the family and should be remembered in our family portraits. Even when it comes to my own family’s photos, we have included our own pups the past couple years and now I’m afraid my kids won’t let me do a family photo without the dogs (which makes things fun that’s for sure!).

Of course I do think it’s important to do some “people only photos” too so here are some of my favorites! I love how this session turned out. Beautiful day, beautiful sunset light, and a super beautiful family!

Thanks for checking out my photography blog today!

Today I am popping in to share a few more of my favorite photos from my recent studio photography session with Jaxden and Peyton. When it comes to defining my “style” in photography, I have to say my favorites and the photos that I feel represent my style the most are the relationship photos. Real, true, fun, (sometimes not fun) family moments are my favorite and of course genuine expressions. I work so hard to get my clients to relax, to truly smile at me, to laugh (sometimes I am truly making a fool of myself) but the results are always so worth it.

A few of my favorites of brother and sister together…

and the handsome big brother alone…

Last but not least, the star of the show, Peyton.

Our main focus of the session was to get some adorable “1 year old” portraits to celebrate her recently turning one! I love this little outfit her mom got for her!

And of course we had fun playing dress up with her and using all my girly props… just another day at the office if you know what I mean 😉

I promised I would share a few more from this recent mini family session in Lethbridge, so I’m back today sharing a few more of my favorites.

Family sessions don’t have to be painful! I know a lot of parents worry that it will be too stressful, or that their kids won’t behave, or that their teenagers won’t cooperate. They use these reasons to put off having their family photos done… But I am here to tell them, I know exactly what they’re feeling and I try my best to make the whole process as painless as possible… even, dare I say it… fun!

If you think your family wouldn’t be able to handle a whole photo session, consider a mini.

Thought I would share a sneak peek from a recent family mini session. These parents didn’t want to torture their teenagers with a long photo session, so they hired me for just a short session, focused on family photos only. Working with teenagers is always such a breeze compared to the babies and toddlers I usually work with, so I had fun doing this session. Hopefully they did too!

Here’s one for now, will share more later.

If you are thinking you want some fall family pictures in Lethbridge, it’s not too late! I have some openings this weekend, and there’s still some great fall color! Send me an email! (use this contact form!)

It’s been a long time since I’ve updated the blog, truth be told I was taking some unofficial time off for a bit, and I have to say it feels really good to be doing some photography again! I realized today it’s been almost 11 years since I started this business! I am so thankful that I have so many amazing clients who call me when they add a new baby to their family, so I get to watch them grow and help them capture it too!

One of my most favorite newborn sessions was back in 2011, when I took pictures of these gorgeous newborn twins… (see more from that session here)

Well now these girls have grown up a bit, still just as gorgeous!!!

and now they have a new baby brother named Gavin!

I really, really struggled in choosing which photos to share in this sneak peek. I don’t want to give away all the best ones, because I want there to be some delightful surprises when mom and dad view their proof gallery… but I also really really want to share so many of them!!! So these will have to do for now.

I LOVE this family photo…

Gavin is as you can see, was a very, very alert newborn! Thankfully we got tons of adorable awake photos because he really didn’t want to sleep for me! But I love that we got so much variety, it’s so fun to have both awake and asleep photos of such a new little guy!

I will share more later. Lots more favorites to come!

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday with your families.

I know, it’s been a long time since I updated this blog, and I’m sorry!

This has been such a beautiful fall, I’m sure I am not the only photographer in Lethbridge who has been loving this warm weather, (minus the windy days of course).

Here are a few sneak peeks from a recent fall family photo session. I am so thankful for amazing clients who come back to me as their family grows. I first met this family when the oldest son was just a little guy, I believe he was 4. It’s been a pleasure to watch this family grow and photograph them as they do!

I know a certain mom who is waiting oh so patiently to see a sneak peek from this session, so here it goes. It was really really hard for me to narrow down which ones to show on here for the sneak peek, because there are seriously so many good ones. And I don’t want to show all the best ones now and then have the proof gallery be not as exciting, so remember, there are lots more to come!

First off, this one…. I took the top photo, on thanksgiving weekend 2014. Bottom photo from summer 2010. So fun to create an oldie but a goodie. I have the old one hanging in my studio actually, I always loved that one. Little brother’s expression here CRACKS ME UP. :)

Next up, a few cousin portraits. I think it’s so special to have your kids photographed with their cousins as well as with their own siblings. Bonus points because Grandma will LOVE you when she gets a beautiful photo of her beloved grandkids all together!

and to top off this little sneak peek… one that I LOVE of little brother. Because he was being a typical 6 year old boy, not at all interested in getting his photo taken… and I know moms can worry that we didn’t get anything good.

Fall is my favorite! I’m sure I have said that every year for the past 8 years I’ve been in business but it’s true. The light just seems different in the fall, and I LOVE it!

Today on my photography blog, I’m sharing a sneak peek from a recent outdoor mommy and me baby session. It’s not too late to book a session with me if you want to get your own family (or childrens) photos done in the fall, but book now because the leaves won’t stick around long (that’s the thing about Lethbridge, fall is SHORT thanks to our lovely wind).

I can’t wait to share more of these two beautiful ladies, but for now, I will leave you with these! Enjoy!

I was so excited to work with this family again! Last time they came to see me, big sister Molly was the baby. Her baby session was one of my favorite baby sessions ever, because she was so happy awake, and so adorable asleep. This time Molly brought her brand new baby sister Adeline (17 days old). And just like last time, these two beautiful girls were perfect photoshoot subjects. Here are a few of my favorites from our studio session together (lots to share because it was such a great session!).

If you are expecting and would like to book a newborn session with me, please send me a message as soon as you think of it! Newborns are best photographed at a young age so they stay sleepy and happy :)

I am not officially “back to work” yet, still taking some time to enjoy my newest sweet little baby boy and adjust to this whole “life with three kids thing”… but when a special person called me and asked if I would do some family portraits for her while all her kids (and grandkids) were together in one city I couldn’t say no! I had so much fun working with this big family, everyone was so sweet and lovely and easy to work with (something that can’t always be said of big groups!).

There are many more photos to choose from so I definitely had a hard time narrowing it down  to show a few on my blog. This family has been waiting so patiently for a sneak peek so here it is, I should be done all of the photos soon, but for now I really hope you enjoy these!

I was having so much fun at this session-it was brutally hot BUT I could not complain because we had such a great location, and such cooperative fun subjects! oh and I can’t forget to mention the donkey audience! LOL. :)
