Archive for 'recent sessions'

Thanks for checking out my photography blog today!

Today I am popping in to share a few more of my favorite photos from my recent studio photography session with Jaxden and Peyton. When it comes to defining my “style” in photography, I have to say my favorites and the photos that I feel represent my style the most are the relationship photos. Real, true, fun, (sometimes not fun) family moments are my favorite and of course genuine expressions. I work so hard to get my clients to relax, to truly smile at me, to laugh (sometimes I am truly making a fool of myself) but the results are always so worth it.

A few of my favorites of brother and sister together…

and the handsome big brother alone…

Last but not least, the star of the show, Peyton.

Our main focus of the session was to get some adorable “1 year old” portraits to celebrate her recently turning one! I love this little outfit her mom got for her!

And of course we had fun playing dress up with her and using all my girly props… just another day at the office if you know what I mean 😉

Checking into my photography blog today to share a sneak peek from a recent vintage style studio baby photography session in Lethbridge. I know the momma of this precious baby girl has been waiting oh so patiently to see these, and I don’t want to make her wait any longer!

I just got that vintage wagon toy and I couldn’t be happier about how it worked for this image! (Cute baby also doesn’t hurt).

Also in love with using my new vintage washtub that I picked up a few weeks ago. Baby picture perfection! My personal philosophy when it comes to using props in a photoshoot is that less is more. I LOVE a timeless, classic image and I think that can only be created with minimal props that enhance the image, rather than to steal attention from the true subject of the portrait-the child! Looking through my website galleries you won’t see photos with a ton of props-and that is intentional. I strive to create timeless portrait photographs that won’t look like an out of date trend a few years from now. That being said I am always open to using frilly outfits and diaper covers. I am the mom to three little boys so I always joke about how I only really get to indulge my girly frilly pretty prop side when I have baby girls in my studio.

And for now I will add one more, of the adorable baby Peyton with her big brother. I work hard to make sure I get at least one awesome shot of SIBLINGS TOGETHER because I know as a mom, those are the pictures that just make your heart happy-when you get a great picture of your kids TOGETHER, HAPPY, with genuine expressions!

I’ve been getting a lot of inquiries about fall family photos. If you are desiring a fall family photoshoot with me, please book now for best fall color. With the recent cold snap I have a feeling we will lose a lot of leaves (and all the gorgeous color) very quickly here in Southern Alberta so book early to avoid disappointment. Email me through my contact page and let me know when you would like to get your photos done. I have limited availability but keep myself flexible to compensate for bad weather.

Just a quick one to share for now, LOVE love love family portraits in the fall! I always wait til the fall to update my own family portraits as well… (NOT that I want to discourage you from getting family pictures done anytime of the year!).

I am in love with the photos from this recent Lethbridge newborn photography session. Little Jaxon was such an amazing little newborn model, he slept like a champ! I literally did not want to stop taking his pictures, I just wanted to keep going on and on. I have so many new favorite images, it was so hard for me to narrow down which ones to show here on the blog so, I picked a lot! I hope you enjoy looking at these.

Such a beautiful family!

I am taking a limited number of bookings for fall, and since fall is always a popular time for photos, that means you should book early to reserve a date. Give me a call (or email!) today!

I was so excited to work with this family again! Last time they came to see me, big sister Molly was the baby. Her baby session was one of my favorite baby sessions ever, because she was so happy awake, and so adorable asleep. This time Molly brought her brand new baby sister Adeline (17 days old). And just like last time, these two beautiful girls were perfect photoshoot subjects. Here are a few of my favorites from our studio session together (lots to share because it was such a great session!).

If you are expecting and would like to book a newborn session with me, please send me a message as soon as you think of it! Newborns are best photographed at a young age so they stay sleepy and happy :)

Today I am going to share some photos from a recent newborn/baby session. At six weeks old, Nathan wasn’t quite a new newborn like some of the babies I photograph, but he also wasn’t very old! Sometimes waiting until they are 6-8 weeks old can result in really great photos, they are still tiny like a newborn but they also are able to make eye contact, and some even coo and smile. This little man had lots of smiles for me, just not for my camera unfortunately! But that is ok, I think we got lots of adorable photos of him and his gorgeous family.

I’m sharing a lot, because I had a lot of favorites!

I love that last one of the three siblings together! Sibling shots are always my favorite. Probably because as a mom I know how happy I am to get a good one of all my kiddos together!

three year old big sister was a bit of a tough cookie at first, not falling for any of my jokes or goofing around. But I did manage to get some adorable photos of her, like this next one, I love it! She is adorable!

This little guy had the best eyelashes! I don’t know why boys always get the best eyelashes, but they do.

I love his chubby little hands and arms… that is definitely a bonus to waiting a few weeks to do newborn pictures, they fill out more and have that adorable baby chub! melts my heart. I couldn’t get over how cute this little guy was… didn’t want to move him for fear of waking him up!

I am not officially “back to work” yet, still taking some time to enjoy my newest sweet little baby boy and adjust to this whole “life with three kids thing”… but when a special person called me and asked if I would do some family portraits for her while all her kids (and grandkids) were together in one city I couldn’t say no! I had so much fun working with this big family, everyone was so sweet and lovely and easy to work with (something that can’t always be said of big groups!).

There are many more photos to choose from so I definitely had a hard time narrowing it down  to show a few on my blog. This family has been waiting so patiently for a sneak peek so here it is, I should be done all of the photos soon, but for now I really hope you enjoy these!

I was having so much fun at this session-it was brutally hot BUT I could not complain because we had such a great location, and such cooperative fun subjects! oh and I can’t forget to mention the donkey audience! LOL. :)

I forgot to add these back in December when they were taken, but I thought they were too cute not to share. Here is a few favorite pictures from my studio photoshoot with baby Cooper. He was so cute! He definitely was a mommy’s little boy, no matter where she hid in my studio he tried his best to find her and look at her instead of me! But despite that I got him to look at me too, as you can see and we got some adorable photographs! He was such a charmer, I’m sure you will agree!

You’ll have to excuse my lateness in getting some sessions blogged this fall. I have a good excuse, I’ve been distracted. I’m expecting my third baby in early february, and I’ll be honest, getting all my work wrapped up+getting prepared for Christmas meant a few things had to give and that ended up being the blog! So I will try to get a few more sessions on here before my baby arrives, after which I will be taking a little bit of time off work. Please still email me if you’re interested in booking a session and I will let you know what my availability is like at that point but for now I am not taking on any new sessions for at least a few months.

Here are a few favorites from my baby photo session with Adam. He was so cute, so smiley and soooo very busy. Luckily it was his mom who had to chase him and not me because I am not so quick on my feet these days. Although he was a bit tough to pin down everytime we got him to stay still we got adorable photos so it was totally worth it! I love sessions like that, quick and easy!

Enjoy!

This next one is my favorite, you just can’t help but smile when you see such a cute happy baby!

This was such a fun engagement session for me because 1) it was for my brother in law and future sister in law, and 2) I forgot how easy it is to pose big people! LOL. They stay where you put them and they smile when you ask them too… no quacking or silly antics involved from me. Sort of a nice break! (not that I mind having to work so hard as a children’s photographer but it was nice to work with adults too). It was fun to go to a few different locations around Lethbridge too, as you can probably see in these photos we were all over the city!

Here are… well lets face it, here are A LOT of favorites from their engagement photo session. Enjoy!

And last but not least the paint fight… I can’t take credit (or responsibility LOL) for this idea, they found it on pinterest. Just a warning if you try this yourself, bring towels to sit on in your car for the ride home! :-)
