17 days old… such a cute little guy, slept well for me. He was a little bit hard to get into squishy bended positions because he was a really big newborn! He’s gonna be a tall one! I love the awake shots we got of him as well though, so alert for such a young baby.

I just saw Gracen the other day and in the weeks since our photo session he has already changed so much. His mom and I were talking about how happy she is that she had these photos done because it’s hard to believe he was ever that small… it just reminded me of how important it is to capture your newborn in beautiful professional portraits. I can certainly relate, I know I treasure the photos I have of my son as a newborn, because I can’t believe how much he has changed only 7.5 months later! It is crazy how fast they grow up. I can’t imagine not having those precious images displayed around my home.

Anyway, enough yakking, here are just a few of my many favorites from this session.

Thought I would share a few more favorites… I could honestly share them all if I had the time, this was such a great session.

Just a couple weeks shy of 1 year old, Blayke was a very busy little guy. He did really great for family photos…

when it came time to take pictures of him by himself, he was a little hard to keep in one place (like all kids who have recently learned to walk)…

so we had to contain him… which he didn’t seem to mind.

This is one of my all time favorite storyboards that his parent’s chose, I think it would look so cute in a bathroom.

Normally I don’t consider 6 weeks old a newborn, at least not photography wise… they usually won’t curl up for me, and can be difficult to get into a deep enough sleep for photos… but this little guy proved me wrong! He couldn’t come when he was a new-newborn because he lives 8 hours away from me, so he decided to be a perfect sleeping angel for me at this session (2 days shy of 6 weeks old)…

Just a quick sneak peek… these photos make me so happy because I am just so full of thanksgiving and joy for these two parents, who deserve every single second of happiness this little guy will bring them. He is such a blessing.

…and keeping with the theme of happiness… a sleep smile… my favorite thing to capture!

Happy Easter to everyone!

If you’ve noticed that I haven’t blogged about how the spring mini sessions went, it’s because they just happened! I had to postpone them because I ended up getting sick that weekend. So we rescheduled for a week later, and unfortunately 3 of my clients had to cancel the day of because they were sick now too (is it just me, or is everyone sick right now? It seems like everyone I know is!). Anyways, we still got to do a few, and I think we will try to reschedule a quick session for the kids who were sick.

I thought I’d just share a sneak peek of the mini sessions for now… it was a lot of fun!

My little nephew will be 2 years old tomorrow! He gave me all of 2 minutes to take some photos of him the other day. I have to take what I can get!

Same image but in color… can’t decide which one I like more

and a funny one that totally symbolizes him at this age… pouting… did not want his photo taken… the crossed arms just kill me, that is his new thing when he is mad.
